Hey Drew,

Just a naive/educational question from me.......so.......
Why would a 301cc be allowed in the 250 class........I'm just asking
============================

Yeppers Bob, you were right. There were some issues that came up, all was not perfect. As was to be expected I think, with all the changes and more people involved in running the program. The cool part is the way they handled those snafus and made up for, and/or corrected most of those issues. I know the "LCQ/Consi" issue on Saturday was confusing, but it was great that they gave those kids a chance to get another race in. I know that the parents and the riders were very appreciative about that. Then it was fixed for Sunday and all was good.
I know you can't always handle/fix every situation that comes up to everybodies satisfaction. But the fact that most were addressed and fixed, and those that weren't were at least considered and they listened, is a great to show that they care and will listen.

Things will improve and get smoother each round.........Good Job......

Oh ya..........

And the dummy (putting it nicely) of the weekend award goes to...............

Whoever put the cigarettes in the garbage can....NEXT to the building....UNDER under the WOOD walkway

Really........

Kudos to whoever pulled it out from under the walkway. That could have not only ruined the building, but very easily could have cost us the use of the facility (by either burning the buidling, or pissing off the owners enough to not let Bob come back there)

The other issue that I had that I never brought up in the riders meeting on Sat was:

A) Why is there not a shifter class that is normal, meaning up to 90cc 2 strokes and the 150 4 stokes?? That was always the traditional shifter class.
B) Why are the 2 shifter class's not combined?? Can 2 strokes and 4 strokes not run together??

Now the issue that has nothing to do with me but I have heard plenty of complaints about is the money class's:

A) What is the payout structure? Meaning how far down are the payouts going?? Isn't the norm 33%?? From what I was told pretty much everyone in the money class gets paid, why is this? Is this like the new 50cc class where everyone gets a trophy?? These are the big boys they should have to earn it!!

B) The Vet pro class did not have the pay-outs posted, but since the cost was the same as the pro class $50, shouldn't it also be 100% payback?? I understand the 250 and pro/am class's pay out 50% but they are also cheaper to run!!

C) What happen's if there is only 2 riders in a money class?? Do they just get to pay the higher race entry but not get a chance to earn there money back??

Now understand that these are the main issue's that I can think of that affect me or people that I know, and they are very easy to fix, resolve, or just explained.

Once again I believe that Dawn Fite did a hell of a job listening to people on Sat, I just forgot these issues. THANKS!!!!

I have read the concerns and will get answers and/or clarifications as soon as possible. Please give us the opportunity to discuss them and come up with the right solution. Thanks

Just wanted to clarify this statement:

I think the original post did not differentiate between the 250 Prod class and the 250 Open $$ class. It was intended to be the 250 Open $$ class ONLY. The 250 Prod class is a 250cc max class. The Open class is 296cc max. Therefore a modified Raptor, a stock 300EX, a hybrid 250 can all run the Open $$ class, but not the 250 Prod class. In case you are asking yourself, why the 300EX? let me explain. A 300EX stock has a 282cc diplacement and therefore can run in the Open $$ class. However.....if you are running a built 300 you will not be able to run this class as your motor will be oversized. So where can you run??? the 300 Open class (up to 398cc), this would also include a stock LTZ 400 as it has a 398cc displacement. If you have a built 300EX you can also run in the Production C, Production B or the Youth under 20 class or if you happen to be over 20 and still runnning a 300 you can run in the Sport 20 - 30 class. For any further questions on this matter or any other matters about NWQN plese feel free to email me at dawn@fantomzatv.com.

As for the payout scale we will have payout guidelines added to the 2010 rules on fantomzatv.com just as soon as I figure out the excel spreadsheet for it. But just to give you a preview of how it works I will attempt to expalin it here:

Pro payout: 100% of entries for the class are totaled. 30% is given to 1st place, 30% of the remaining balance in given to 2nd, 30% of reamaining balance is given to 3rd...so on and so on...in the end there is a remaining balance. The remaining bal is then added to the the 1st place payout.

All money classes are paid in this manner except Pro-Am and 250 $$ class are calculated on 50% of the total entries...

I know there was a question about the Vet Pro and originally it was set up the same as the Pro. I forgot to get clarification on this class so I will have to get back on this one tomorrow. I know there are 2 options though: run it the same as Pro or run it the same as Pro-Am and 250$$. The payout would be less if we went with the latter but the entries would be less as well.

Hope this helps to clarify....There are still afew other questions on the table about the shifters and Cobras...I am still working on getting you some info on these topics as well.

Not all "built" 300ex's are over 296cc's. :D

This is simular to the one they used last year, which was very unpopular with the pro's. The basics of the program work very well, if the class has a lot of riders in it. It was designed to be used for the motorcycles, which usually have 30 or more riders in the class. There are barely 30 Pro Quad riders for the Nationals, WORCs or ITP.
Last year this system was acceptable in the Pro-Am class, because it used a $250 purse every event.

A more popular and acceptable option for the pay-out, is to go to the standard 30% schedule, just like they hand out trophies. If there are 3 people in the class, first place get's all the money. If there are 5 or 6, then first and second gets paid, and so on. To mix things up, a few promoters have found that paying per moto, even works better.

There are also too many "money classes". Just make it and "Expert money" class, and call it good.......... This works real well for Woodland, Hannegan and Clark county, and the NW riders are used to it.

The 250 $$ class, however, is a fun idea, but be careful about paying riders under 16 "cash".
Race it.
Break it.
Fix it.
Repeat.

[quote="Daddio (who loves Mt. Dew with a die-hard passion)"]Not all "built" 300ex's are over 296cc's. :D

I meant those that have big bore's or any motor work that would increase their cc size above the cc limits of the class.

As for the payouts, although we appreciate the feedback, we have decided, as a team that this is our payout schedule. The main purpose of this post was not to debate it but to clarify how it works for everyone.

I cant find anywhere in the rule book that it says anything about pay outs........ Why not make it the same as the trophys? I.E 33%. what is the reasoning behind this random pay scale that bob has made up that no one knows whats going on......

I'm a little lost, in the rule book does it have a cc limit to the open class? To me a 250 OPEN class is OPEN...right? Dont call it an open class if thats not true...

"Open" doesn't always refer to the cc's. In this case, "Open" means that the engine type or chassis type is optional. In other words, the 250cc Hybrids can run in this class, where they can not run in the 250cc Production class.

My understanding from what Dawn wrote is YES, there is a CC limit in the 250 Open $$$ class.
She stated that it was 296 CC max for that class.
In this case open means exactly what Todd said, that way the 250 shifters can ride in it.....
Guess I better put a 250 in Ash's shifter now....hahaha :crazydance :ba

Dawn, when I asked the question earlier I did know it was only the money class, just didn't add the $$$ to my description.......
